ROBYNN SHAYNE hits the Stage Under the Stars for St. Patty’s Day at Moontower Friday March 17, 8pm. Grab your honey and come have an evening of great music at a great place. Moontower!
Now residing in Austin, Texas, Robynn Shayne grew up in a small town northwest of Ft. Worth, Texas. In junior high, her parents encouraged her to sing by taking her to the recording studio at the Six Flag theme park. Her senior year of high school, she was encouraged by her Theater Arts teacher to sing in the annual talent show.
Years later, a musician friend urged her to learn to play the guitar “to go with those vocals”. Within a week of picking up the guitar, she had taught herself several chords, and learned to play some of her favorite songs ranging from Dolly Parton to Miranda Lambert.
A couple of years later, she was brave enough to participate in the local open mic night. The response was overwhelming, and with the support of family and friends she found a deeper passion for playing music.
She went on to compete in a radio competition and won a slot to open for Texas recording artist Cory Morrow. She has also opened for Pat Green, The Dirty River Boys and Mickey and The Motorcars. Robynn is performing locally in Austin at iconic places such as The Saxon Pub and Ginny’s Little Longhorn Saloon, as well as the North Texas and Oklahoma areas.
After a successful trip to Nashville, singing down on Broadway, she came back to Texas with a spark to begin writing her own music. She released her self titled EP in February 2012, which is a available on iTunes, Spotify, Rhapsody, and Amazon.
